I must have been living under a rock, only recently did I became aware of BB CREAM. In fact my friend Hayley almost fell to the side when I asked her about it! You DON’T know about BB CREAM? She was surprised by my ignorance, I guess….
(sorry)
So, as I always, I hit the internet and started googling!!!Here are my finds:
Originally formulated in Germany by dermatologist Dr. Christine Schrammek in the 1950s, the cream was initially used to protect skin after laser procedures and surgery, while also providing light coverage. BB cream has been named “the secret of the Korean actresses”. BB creams comes in a variety of different formulations and qualities mainly perceived as being anti-inflammatory and having a soothing effect. Great for those who have sensitive and acne-prone skin. It has all-in-one properties, moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunblock.
BB cream has the advantages of both skin care and makeup as it improves the skin’s condition and evens out the skin tone while providing coverage for dark spots and other blemishes.
Besides the healing properties that soften, smooths and refines skin also encourages skin regeneration to create and maintain youthful skin. Contains UV Protection for healthy skin. Anti-wrinkle and skin-lightening benefits.
In order to get the real stuff that comes from Korea I went to (Korea) Chinatown in search of the it. Unfortunately there’s a limited choice of colors. I manage to get a “Ocre” hue still a bit too light for my skin tone, never the less I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now, I’ve found that it glides on smoothly and blends easily. It gives me a flawless skin due to the light and natural finish but a bit ashy. No Worries. I fix that by using a powder “bronzer” (two different shades) strategically applied for a glowing sun kissed look. Until I find the correct shade for my skin tone. Also I’ve been using Tricia Sawyer sheer diffusion cotton powder, just in the Tzone. It’s fabulous because it’s so fine and it doesn’t add (powder) to my natural look. So far haven’t notice any real changes as far as the skin dark spots….waiting!
Outside China/ Koreatown you can get it at Amazon.com and as you probably know many cosmetics brands have brought out their own formula of the BB cream. Smashbox, Garnier, Estee Lauder,Vichy, Bocia….etc etc
The B B Magic Cream offers natural looking coverage, protects against sun damage. It has UVA,UVB and Sun Protection. Cucumber & Caviar extracts supply skin moisture. Eucalyptus relieves problem prone skin to curb breakouts.
The best: go to a drugstore or/and Saphora and test them all, check for the best color and the highest SPF….Good Luck

Been using the Marcelle BB cream, and chose the dark over the light, to give a little bit of a tan to my fair skin. It has worked out quite nicely. Not orangey nor too pinky!
Thank you, I’ll check it out!!!! It definitely leaves the skin with a beautiful glow!!!
I’ve used some BB creams from various Korean brands. My favorite so far is Tony Moly’s Honey-Bee Skin Solution BB Cream (esp for sensitive & acne-prone skin) because of the color match and it doesn’t feel as thick as the others I’ve tried.
Thank you
