My Travels to Bella Coola…

There are many things that I like about my job! One of them is the unexpected call that  gets me not only a job but also on a plane in  24 hours to apply a beard on a stunt double. A pick up shot for  a movie that was filmed awhile back in Alberta.

There I was in Beautiful Bella Coola Valley, I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t know about it. Bella Coola is a gem of natural beauty within the Central Coast of British Columbia. It should be on everyone’s bucket list!!! Check!

Stayed in a beautiful cabin at the Tweedsmuir Park Lodge where the food was superb the wine list deserving of a 5 star hotel.” International cuisine is prepared in the lodge kitchen with fresh ingredients and some of these come from the Bella Coola Valley, including fresh local fish and seafood.”

To the very entertaining owner “Sweed’ and the lovely staff a Huge thank you … It was a beautiful, peaceful and practically “out of the grid”!!!! Well kind of….no cellular reception but wireless… Heavenly…calming.

I didn’t get to go up the mountain, I was just FINE with that. I believe it was very cold!!

My improv  makeup station ! The challenge was to make  the facial hair pieces stay  for many hours while the stuntman  is hiking climbing and jumping….. in freezing temperatures…and … I wasn’t going to be there to touch it up! Gave Will a crash course on “how to re-apply a ventilated facial hair piece” Please, don’t loose any pieces….!!! Thank you so much! Packed a small touch up kit with  spirit gum, brush and a small 99% alcohol (so that he could activate the glue), some wipes and sunscreen!!! It’s always challenging when there are ventilated pieces and very cold climates. I opted for Kryolan Spirit Gum, old product tried and tested and has never let me down.

No pieces were lost but the beard came back stuffed in his pocket not on his face :) ….once I cleaned it. It was just as perfected as it was in the morning. BTW I was just reading this article that mentions using olive oil mixture to clean lace. Never heard of it before. Have you? If you have I would love to know your opinion!!! Here is the article

Instructions

  • Apply lace adhesive remover, 100 percent acetone or olive oil onto the portion of your wig that contains the residue. Although the acetone and olive oil work well, the adhesive remover is made specifically for removing lace wig glue and tape.
  • 2
Allow the adhesive remover, acetone or olive oil to remain on the lace front wig for 20 minutes. Some adhesive removers work faster than others. Follow the instructions on the product.
  • 3
Soak a lint free towel in alcohol. Rub the towel on the area that contains the residue. As you rub the area, the residue will come off onto the towel. If residue remains, repeat steps one through three until all residue is gone.

Arrived back in Vancouver just in time to celebrate ” Italian Day” at the drive, got to enjoy my favorite Portuguese food. Grilled Sardines. Yummy!!!

    Dear Moi,

I am writing you today to see if you can help my wife and I out with our new product, The Makeup Frame that we just launched on Indiegogo.com. It’s a makeup organizer that I created for my wife and then all her friends started having me make one for them and then I thought to myself wow this can be made for all women, so here we are today. Please let me know if you can help us out on getting traffic to our campaign on indiegogo. Thank you in advance for any help that you can offer and I would love to send one out to you for all your wonderful help. Here’s a direct link to our campaign http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/242362?a=1234013 We can arrange to pay you for traffic coming from your site, I just figured out that on indiegogo we can create your own URL that supplies you with tracking so that you can see how many people visit our campaign.
